Mothers Four

Who needs a Mitochondrial DNA test with a photo like this?

Cornelia Vandenberg, mother of Ida deZwaan, the mother of Rhoda Timmer, the mother of Irene Abel, the mother of me!

My report would undoubtedly say Netherlander/Dutch.  The little girl in the photo is my mother and working your way back through her maternal line are generations of Dutch women, albeit the three others in the photo were all born in western Michigan, their parents were Dutch.  Had it been possible to include just one more generation into this photograph, you would see Arentje VanHuisen, who was born in South Holland, Netherlands but emigrated into western Michigan in 1855.
